DFJ Gives $250K To University Startup
Draper Fisher Jurvetson, along with its affiliates, DFJ Frontier and Zone Ventures, said Monday that it has awarded $250,000 to the winner of the firm's third annual college venture challenge. The event, which was held in Menlo Park last week, pitted fourteen teams from 12 California universities in a business plan competition. The winning team of the firm's venture capital competition was d.light design, out of Stanford University, which is developing sustainable lighting and power solutions for undeserved marketings in areas without access to electricity.
