Pleasanton-based ZANTAZ, a provider of content archiving and electronic discovery software, has been acquired by Automony Corporation plc. Autonomy said today that it has agreed to acquired ZANTAZ for approximately $375M in cash, in a deal that is expected to close by August. ZANTAZ develops software used for archiving of data and for regulatory compliance by enterprises. ZANTAZ will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Autonomy, with current CEO Steve King heading the subsidiary. Zantaz is backed by General Atlantic Partners, Athena Technology Ventures, ComVentures, Geneva Venture Partners, Novus Ventures and Red Rock Ventures.
