Trimble Acquires Engineering Firm
Sunnyvale-based Trimble said this morning that it has acquired Crain Enterprises, an Illinois-based engineering and construction accessory company. Financial terms of the all-cash deal were not disclosed. Crain manufactures accessories for the geomatics, surveying, mapping, and construction industry. According to Trimble, the firm's purchase will provide it with necessary accessories for its positioning solutions, which are used in the engineering and construction market. Trimble is a manufacturer of GPS-based positioning systems, and operates a unit focused on the engineering and construction area.
