Networking equipment manufacturer Juniper Networks Inc. reported Wednesday that it has hired Dr. David Yen as executive vice president of emerging technologies. Yen joins Juniper after nearly 20 years with Sun Microsystems Inc., where he most recently served as executive vice president of Sun's microelectronics group. Before Sun, Yen was director of hardware development at Cydrome Inc., which he co-founded. He has also held engineering roles at IBM Research and at TRW Inc. At Juniper, Yen will report directly to Scott Kriens, the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company's chief executive officer.
