Airship Ventures Floats In $8M For Tourist Blimp
Moffett Field-based Airship Ventures said last week that it has raised $8M in a Series A preferred stock financing from six individuals. The angel funding was led by Esther Dyson. Airship Ventures said it is looking to bring Zeppelin airship operations to Moffett Field for sightseeing operations. Six individuals participated in the funding; other investors in the firm were not disclosed. Airship is targeting the Zeppelin NT07 airship, a 12-passenger blimp which is currently flying in Germany and Japan.
