San Mateo-based SpringSource, which develops Java software for the enterprise market, said Tuesday that it has closed a $15M, Series B round of funding. The round was led by Accel Partners, and also included prior investor Benchmark Capital. SpringSource develops the Java Spring components, which are used by companies to develop Java-based applications. Kevin Efrusy of Accel Partners joins SpringSource's board of directors. SpringSource's software is used for application servers for deploying software based on Sun's Java programming language. The funding brings the company's total raised to $25M.
