Wind River Buys Mobile Linux Firm
Alameda-based Wind River, a provider of embedded software products, said Thursday afternoon that the firm has signed an agreement to acquire MIZI Research, a Korean firm focused on mobile LInux development. According to Wind River, it will pay up to $16M in cash to acquire substantially all of the outstanding shares of MIZI. MIZI Research develops a mobile application platform based on embedded Linux, which is used by consumer electronics firms to develop mobile phones and other products. MIZI is based in Seoul, and has 65 employees.
