CA said Tuesday that it has purchased certain data center automation and policy-based optimization expertise and assets from San Jose-based
Cassatt. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cassatt, a venture-backed maker of data center automation software, was backed by Warburg Pincus and New Enterprise Associates. According to CA, Rob Gingell, EVP of Product Development and CTO of Cassatt, along with Steve Oberlin, Chief Scientist and co-founder of Cassatt, have joined CA, along with other developers, engineers, and key employees. CA also said it acquired "several" Cassatt patents and patent applications, as well as other intellectual property.
