Santa Clara-based
Atheros Communications announced today that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire
Intellon, a developer of powerline communications technology. The deal is worth approximately $244M, or $181M net after accounting for Intellon's cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments. Intellon's products are used for home networking, entertainment, Ethernet-over-Coax, smart grid, and other applications.
