NetApp Buys Bycast
Sunnyvale-based NetApp said yesterday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bycast, a developer of storage virtualization software targeted at the digital archiving and storage market. Financial terms of the all-cash deal were not disclosed. Bycast is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. NetApp said that the acquisition will extend its leadership in the unified storage space, and particularly in object-based storage software.
