, the provider of video conferencing and other related hardware, said today that it has acquired
Accordent
, a developer of enterprise webcasting products. The deal was worth $50M in cash. Polycom said it would use the buy to enhance its unified communications offerings. Accordent was venture backed by TVC Ventures, and is based in the Los Angeles area. Accordent's 50 employees become part of Polycom's research and development organization.
