San Francisco-based TaskRabbit, which operates an online marketplace to help businesses and people get tasks done by others, said today that it has raised $17.8M in a Series B round. The round came from LightSpeed Venture Partners, as well as existing investors Allen & Company and The Tornante Company. The firm said that LightSpeed's Justin Caldbeck joins the company's board with the funding. TaskRabbit also is backed by Baseline Ventures, First Round Capital, FLOODGATE Fund, Collaborative Fund and Shasta Ventures. The Tornante Company is the investment firm of former Walt Disney CEO Michael Eisner.
