San Francisco-based
nCircle, a developer of IT risk management, auditing, and security performance management software, has been acquired by fellow security software developer
Tripwire. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the companies. nCircle was backed by Alta Partners, JK&B Capital, Menlo Ventures, Guide Ventures, and others, and was founded in 1998. Tripwire is owned by private equity firm Thoma Bravo.
