VMware Sells Off Shavlik Product Line
Palo Alto-based virtualization software developer VMware has sold one of the product lines it acquired in its acquisition of Shavlik Technologies in 2001, to LANDesk Software, the firms said today. Financial details of the sale were not disclosed. LANDesk said it has acquired the VMware Protect product family of IT management solutions. LANDesk said the buy expands its user-oriented IT management market presence with access to new channels and a complimentary product line.
