MapBox Locates $10M For Mapping Apps

reported Thursday that it has raised $10M in a Series A funding round. The funding came from Foundry Group. MapBox develops mapping software and data that can be used by developers to create their own maps in their web and mobile apps; the company's toolkit is being used by Uber, foursquare, hipmunk, Evernote, and others for their mapping features. The company said the funding will go towards hiring and expanding its team in both San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
