StrongLoop Acquired By IBM
San Mateo-based StrongLoop, a developer of tools used to develop Node.js software and APIs, has been acquired by IBM, the two said Thursday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. StrongLoop was led by Juan Carlos Soto. IBM said the acquisition would help developers connect their enterprise applications to mobile, Internet of Things (IoT) and web applications in the cloud. StrongLoop was venture backed by Shasta Ventures and Ignition Partners. The company had raised only $8M, back in 2013.
