The Climate Corporation, which is a subsidiary of Monsanto Company, announced on Monday morning that it has acquired Denver, Colorado-based agricultural software developer
HydroBio. Financial details of the deal were not announced. HydroBio's software is used by farmers to monitor irrigation of their fields, helping to monitor crop health and integrating that data with equipment. HydroBio was venture backed by Monsanto Growth Ventures (MGV), the venture capital arm of Monsanto Company, and has been using HydroBio's irrigation management software via its own offering in Europe, AquaTEK, which is used for irrigation management of corn.
