Venture-backed, virtual world operator
AltspaceVR says it is shutting down its services, after
running into unforeseen financial difficulty. The startup, which had been venture backed by such companies as Tencent, Dolby Family Ventures, Raine Ventures Lux Capital, Western Technology Investments, Maven Ventures, Promus Ventures, Streamlined Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures, and Comcast Ventures, told its users that it had "run out of time and money" after a deal for its next round of funding fell through.
