Proofpoint Acquires Wombat Security Technologies For $225M
Sunnyvale-based Proofpoint, a developer of cybersecurity products, has acquired Wombat Security Technologies, a provider of services to help companies educate employees on phishing and other cybersecurity attacks. Proofpoint said it would pay $225M in cash for Wombat Security Technologies. Wombat provides real-time phishing simulation and cybersecurity awareness training, which is used by enterprises to gather insights into the vulnerability of their employees to phishing attacks.
