Agilent Technologies has acquired
ACEA Biosciences, a developer of analytical instruments, systems, and software used in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, along with academia. The two companies announced the acquisition this morning, but did not provide financial details of the transacation. According to the companies, the acquisition will help Agilent expand its team and broaden its portfolio of technology. ACEA's products, which include a line of benchtop flow cytometry systems, are used in the immuno-oncology, pre-clinical drug discovery and development, and basic academic research. ACEA's CEO is Xiao Xu, and the company is based in San Diego, California.
