Automattic Raises $29.5M
San Francisco-based Automattic, the parent company behind the popular Wordpress blogging software and Wordpress.com blog hosting site, said last night that it has raised $29.5M in a venture capital round. The round came from the firm's existing investors Polaris Venture Partners, True Ventures, and Radar Ventures, and also included new investor the New York Times. The firm had previously raised $1.1M in a Series investment in April of 2006.
