Intel Backs SecureKey
Intel, via its Intel Capital investment arm, has backed a Canadian developer of mobile authentication software, SecureKey. SecureKey said Friday that it has raised $30M in growth capital in a round led by Intel Capital, along with Visa, MasterCard, Discover Financial Services, Rogers Venture Partners, and TELUS Corporation. Intel is using SecureKey's technology in its Ultrabook devices. SecureKey develops security software which embeds into laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to help with identity management, particularly with financial institutions and other critical users of authentication.
