Emeryville-based
NextBus, which develops real-time, passenger information systems used by transit agencies, was acquired last week by
Cubic Transportation Systems. Cubic said it paid CAD$20.75M to purchase NextBus from Webtech Wireless, Inc. NextBus develops real-time transit information via both signage, smartphone applications, and more to help passengers figure out where their rides are. NextBus supplies its systems to the metro systems in Los Angeles, Toronto, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Boston, as well as other areas.
