San Francisco-based
Crocodoc, a developer of software tools to allow the embedding and viewing of documents in web pages, has been acquired by
Box, the two companies said Thursday. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Crocodoc said its technology will remain as a stand-alone offering, but also become available as part of the Box platform. Crocodoc's software is being used by such companies as Yammer, LinkedIn, Dropbox, Facebook, and Edmodo.
