Alverix Acquired By BD For $40M
San Jose-based Alverix, a developer of point-of-care diagnostic instruments, has been acquired in a $40M deal by BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company). According to BD, it has been using Alverix' instruments since 2008, as part of a collaboration for the point-of-care diagnostic market. Alverix was venture backed by Safeguard Scientific and New Venture Partners.
